We are delighted to share the academic success of Dr. Xavier Casanovas Combalia, an alumnus of the UCSIA Summer School in 2024, whose paper—originally presented during our program—has now been published in the renowned Spanish philosophy journal Pensamiento.
Dr. Xavier Casanovas Combalia’s research explores the intersection of theology, politics, and ethics, with a particular focus on the shifting role of secularism and religious thought in contemporary society. His work critically examines the crisis of progress as a secular promise, analyzing how theological and political narratives shape reactionary movements in the 21st century. As a professor at the IQS – School of Engineering, Universitat Ramon Llull, he is engaged in ethical and philosophical inquiries into the evolving relationship between modernity, ideology, and faith.
His recent publication in Pensamiento contributes to ongoing debates on the political implications of religious discourse and the reconfiguration of moral values in times of sociopolitical change.
